My full name is Julio Axel Salgado Vélez, I am enthusiastic birdwatcher base, born and rise in this little piece of paradise call: Puerto Rico. I started birding at age 14 when there were not many birders on the island. I live in Barceloneta, a small coastal town in the north of the island.

Now I am 31 and been running tours for 11 years. I’ve been a member of the board of the Puerto Rican Ornithological Society (Sopipr.org) at times and volunteer for many other years. I am also a NAI certified Interpertitve Guide.
